I’m a Texas-licensed LMFT. I work with couples by telehealth anywhere in Texas after an affair or betrayal — when trust is shattered and you need a structured path to repair it, or an honest path forward.
What the first few sessions are for
Early on we are not litigating every detail. We are stabilizing. That means agreeing on no more secrets, deciding what contact with the third party looks like, and getting some sleep and structure back into the week. I help you both slow the conversation down enough that it stops re-injuring you every night.
How EFT helps after betrayal
I work primarily from Emotionally Focused Therapy. After an affair, the fights are rarely about the surface topic — they are about whether you still matter to each other and whether it is safe to depend on this person again. EFT gives us a map for those conversations, including the hard ones where the partner who strayed has to stay present while their partner’s pain comes out.
Both partners usually attend
This is couples work, so I generally want you both on the video call. I may meet with each of you individually once early on, but I don’t keep secrets between sessions. If you are not sure yet whether you want to stay together, that is an acceptable starting point — clarity is a legitimate goal. If your concerns are broader than an affair, my general couples counseling page may be a better fit.
Starting
Sessions are by secure video, so you can meet from anywhere in Texas. Reach out and tell me a little about what happened and what you are hoping for.
